You do not need to authenticate if you are on the Free plan. Rate limiting will apply to your IP address.
If you are on the Pro plan then you will need to authenticate using your API key. By providing a valid API key, your rate limit will be increased and you will be able to make more calls per minute to the API.
To authenticate you need to provide Basic Authentication credentials. You can read more about authentication in the api docs here.
